We are hoping for good weather, and to have the wedding ceremony and reception on / around the beach. However, in the event of heavy rain we will be able to move to an indoor venue.

The ceremony should take place in late afternoon / early evening overlooking the beach. We will have a private area for both the ceremony and reception, which will all be part of the main resort. There won't be any travel required between and you can go straight from the beach to having some food and drinks! George is also hoping for some beach karaoke. Let's see what happens.

This depends on where you're coming from! The venue is 25-40 minutes drive from Đà Nẵng airport by taxi depending on traffic. If you are looking to stay with us at the venue, it is very easy to get there from the airport and taxis are plentiful. We will also help to arrange transport. Most flights from the UK and Europe to Việt Nam are to either Hà Nội or Hồ Chí Minh, and from those cities there are cheap, regular internal flights with several airlines to Đà Nẵng. Again we will help everyone who would like to attend to arrange their transport for the whole trip to make it as easy as possible! We will provide much more planning support for everyone in the coming months!

It shouldn't be too long! We've got some ideas but are generally just quite indecisive people.

We have several menus which we are choosing from, but there will be a wide range of delicious local food available. We will make sure that everyone is aware of the menu before the big day!

The wedding - both ceremony and reception - are taking place at Naman Retreat, near the city of Đà Nẵng in Việt Nam, on 15 December 2024. We're hoping to be able to spend time with people in Việt Nam before the wedding as well, however!

In December the weather should be warm, at around 25-28 degrees, but relatively fresh and pleasant. It should be less humid than the rest of the year as December is after the end of the rainy season. Perfect for a day on the beach!

We are hoping to be in Việt Nam for 7-10 days before the wedding, so you are welcome to arrive during that time and we will help you to turn the trip into a holiday! We will likely travel to the venue and Đà Nẵng on the 13th or 14th December to prepare for the wedding on the 15th. You are welcome to arrive at any point up to the day of the wedding, depending on your availability and plans!

Roughly, we plan to start the ceremony a bit before sunset and it should take 45-60 minutes. Before and after the ceremony there will be canapés and drinks. We will then move to the reception, which will include, food, drinks, and dancing - hopefully until the early hours! Aside from those times and in the days before/after the wedding, you are welcome to spend time with us in Việt Nam, or have a holiday of your own!

Đà Nẵng is a very popular city which gets a lot of tourists every year, and the centre is around 15 minutes away from the wedding venue. The wedding venue is also 15 minutes from the historic town of Hội An. Both places have lovely beaches and plenty to see (as well as lots of incredible food).

If you have a British passport, you can visit for up to 45 days without a visa or any application - just turn up! For other countries, it depends! Most visas (if required) are around £20.

From the UK, We generally fly with Vietnam Airlines or Bamboo Airways, which offer direct flights to Hà Nội. Alternatively, Qatar and Thai provide flights which transit in Doha and Bangkok respectively. I'm pretty sure British Airways also have some flights. From Hà Nội or Hồ Chí Minh you will be able to get a cheap internal flight to Đà Nẵng. We can help you to sort all of your flights.

Your presence at the wedding is more than enough.

We would love for you to spend a good amount of time in Việt Nam around the wedding - it's an amazing country with so much to see and do. You could visit Hương's home city of Hà Nội with us while we are there before the wedding, spend some time on the beaches in central Việt Nam, or visit the Mekong delta and islands in the south. Whatever you would like to do, we will help you to plan a trip and the travel involved. In the coming months, we will send you an information pack with plenty of things to do all over the country as well as in the local area.

Nope! Whatever you are comfortable in. We will be dressed in a light suit (for George) and a wedding dress (for Hương (obviously)); the groomsmen and bridal party will have similar light outfits for the warm weather. Just avoid anything too warm and be comfortable!

The weather is likely to be quite hot. If you would like to dress up you are more than welcome to - please consider the heat as we don't want any guests to be uncomfortable! There is no need for a three-piece suit and top hat. Or a fur scarf. The wedding will also hopefully be on or around the beach so you might want to avoid heels, but we are planning on having a hard floor to walk on.

We will be staying at the resort for the wedding and it would lovely if you could stay with us. There is plenty of accommodation there of varying types, from villas to apartments. If you would rather stay elsewhere, that is absolutely fine and we will make sure to help you plan the trip and accommodation well in advance. There are many fantastic hotels in the area. Similarly, if you're looking to spend some time in Việt Nam, we can help with accommodation in other cities. We will provide lots more planning support, including accommodation options at the resort and nearby, in the coming months! Watch this space.
